“He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'
Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."
[Luke 10:34-37]
In the Fall of 2005, the employees of Cambridge Homes in Orlando, Florida, undertook a massive volunteer program to build a new home for the family. Cambridge in conjunction with its trade partners, constructed the home at no cost to them.
In addition, the home was completely furnished with themed bedrooms for the children, a family room complete with computers for homework and lots of games, an outdoor playground area and even a dining room table big enough to hold the entire family -- a long time dream of Linda's.
The 5600 square foot home was constructed in 31 days and the family was housed off site during that time at no expense. More than 300 people attended the Welcome Home Party that featured fire trucks, live music and dancing, a fabulous outdoor buffet and a key presentation from the former owner of Cambridge Homes.
Finally, an endowment was established to mainly provide for real estate taxes for the home in years to come.
